  • Have no retirement assets to divide, or you wish to divide.
  • Agree, in principal, whether either spouse will receive alimony, and, if so, how much and for how long; and
  • Have lived in Virginia for at least 6 months (or your spouse has lived in Virginia for at least six months); and
  • Have been separated for at least 6 months; and
  • Your spouse agrees to cooperate with the divorce process.

  • Agree, in principal, about child custody and visitation.
  • Agree, in principal, about how you will divide all assets and debts; and
  • Have no retirement assets to divide, or you wish to divide.
  • Agree, in principal, whether either spouse will receive alimony, and, if so, how much and for how long; and
  • Have lived in Virginia for at least 6 months (or your spouse has lived in Virginia for at least six months); and
  • Have been separated for at least 6 months; and
  • Your spouse agrees to cooperate with the divorce process.
